  Name: Minesh Randeria

Current Position: Health and Wellbeing Faculty Leader.

School Name and Address: Byron Court Primary School,

                                                Spencer Road, Wembley, Middlesex.

  Specialist Area(s): Physical Education

Background Information:

I am an outstanding practitioner with 8 years’ experience leading Physical Education at Byron Court. In this time I have improved the standard of teaching and learning through delivering regular insets, observations, team-teaching and providing support with planning. In addition to this I have re-written the PE curriculum to reflect the changes and expectations of the New National Curriculum and introduced an effective assessment model. Both the Brent PE Advisor and Ofsted have commented on the quality of the PE provision at Byron Court and the quality and quantity of extra-curricular clubs made available to children. As the leader of the Health and Wellbeing Faculty with over 20 members I empower my team by drawing on their skills and talents. Alongside the other faculty leaders I have a shared responsibility to help shape the School Development Plan and ensuring the 20+ points on my own Faculty School Action Plan are always achieved.

I became a Specialist Leader of Education because I hope to support fellow professionals to raise standards in PE. I want the opportunities we provide to our children at Byron Court to be made available to as many other children in the borough as possible..

How I can support:

I have designed and run a variety of NQT courses in Dance, Gymnastics and Games. I have previously delivered whole school insets to over 60 members of staff as well as supporting teachers one-to-one. I have shared my experience and expertise with other colleagues within Brent to help raise standards of teaching and learning in PE.

I am available to support and develop individuals from NQTs through to subject leaders, or run whole school twilight sessions or inset days. If required, I can assist with the rewriting of your school’s curriculum. I am willing to show schools how to get large numbers of extra-curricular clubs up and running quickly and successfully and then how to maintain these clubs and the numbers that attend.
