 Joint Practice Development

Learning with and from colleagues across schools is a truly collaborative approach, which supports new ways of working.

What is involved?

In all cases a team is established at the start of the year, which includes the Heads from each school, other SLT members, curriculum leaders relevant to the focus and assessment leaders. Each school is visited once over the year where the team undertake learning walks visiting a number of lessons. Quality feedback is given to the host school with key strengths outlined and suggestions for areas of development. The afternoon involves a scrutiny of lesson planning and pupils’ workbooks.

Following the day a report summarising the key findings is written and shared with the Head Teacher of the school visited.
